About Southbury, CT
Southbury, CT is a town located in New Haven County with almost 20,000 people calling the area home. Located along the dammed sections of the Housatonic River, where two of Connecticut’s five largest lakes can be found. Once part of a new independent nation, the southern parish of Woodbury petitioned to establish their own identity. In 1787 they were granted a charter as The “Town of Southbury”.
Fun fact about Southbury is that it is the only community in the country with the name “Southbury”, which is why the town seal reads “Unica Unaque”, which means “The One and Only.”
Within Southbury you can find condo communities, as well as Heritage Village the 55+ active adult community, beautiful residential areas, and even historical homes dating back to the 1700’s. Residents love the incredible dining, shopping, and natural beauty of the area.

There have been many new additions added in the past few years like HomeGoods and Riverview Cinemas 8. A few of my favorite restaurants in include Leo’s Restaurants for breakfast, Heritage Deli & Cafe for lunch, and Rathskeller Restaurant & Bar for dinner.
If you like to golf you can also enjoy a quick round of 9 hole golf at Gainfield Farms. One of the golf courses available here in town.
If you have a dog, go check out the Southbury Dog Park which is a 14-acre off-leash dog park. The park has a large open field for dogs to run freely, and a fenced-in small-dog area as well. There are trails and the park is next to the river that the dogs have access to as well.
